Nikon SB-800 Speedlight
Guide Number OF 184 feet / 56 meters at ISO 100
The Advanced Wireless Lighting feature in the Nikon SB-800 Speedlight not only lets you use your primary flash as a master or off-camera unit, but also allows any number of SB-800s to be separated and correlated into four wireless groups, one master control group and three remotes. This means you can position multiple flashes and use them in a variety of ways. The majority of features for each group also is individually controllable from the master controller or can be run automatically through Nikons i-TTL mode, which makes placement in hard-to-reach locations convenient. The FV Lock (Flash Value Lock) holds measurements and settings in place, much like the auto-exposure lock in a camera, and the modeling flash mode fires stroboscopic bursts of light for visual confirmation of lighting and shadows in a scene to aid in problematic lighting prevention before the shot is ever taken. Zoom coverage extends from 24mm to 105mm, and wide-angle coverage will begin at 17mm by using the built-in wide-flash adapter. Estimated Street Price: $335.
Metz 58 AF-1
Guide Number OF 191 feet / 58 meters at ISO 100
An array of features makes the Metz 58 AF-1 an attractive substitution for a native flash, including a built-in wide-angle diffuser, a fold-away reflector card for its horizontally swiveling and vertically tilting reflector, and an LCD display. The Metz 58 AF-1, while currently available only for Canon E-TTL, Canon E-TTL II, Nikon i-TTL and Nikon D-TTL cameras, features a built-in USB port for future firmware updates via the Internet, which means it could be coming soon to a camera near you. The integrated slave trigger unit also makes it compatible as a wireless solution for both the Nikon i-TTL and Canon E-TTL systems. Estimated Street Price: $375.
Samsung SEF-36PZ

Wireless optical pulse synchronization works intuitively with the camera for off-camera shooting.
