    STEP 4: Prepare Your Gallery Images

    Photos for my gallery, properly sized and saved in the “images/photos/” folder.



    Next, let’s get the images for our gallery pages ready. On my first page, I have three vertical photos, and on my second page, I have two horizontals. Ideally, all of the photos on each page will have the same dimensions so that they create a uniform grid. Consider cropping images to get them to the same dimensions.

    You’ll need to resize the images as well, to the specific dimensions called for in your design sketch. My verticals are all 267 x 400 pixels, and my horizontals are 400 x 265.

    Save these versions of your photos in the folder “images/photos/”. If you’re building a site with many more photos than we’re using here, you may want to create subfolders in the “photos” folder to keep them better organized. For this example though, with only five photos, that isn’t necessary.
