Photography
In San Miguel De Allende
October 15-November 18,
2006
Santa Fe Workshops presents
its sixth series of one-week
photography workshops in
the historic Mexican town
of San Miguel de Allende.
Fifteen dynamic workshops
(three per week) will cover
such topics as personal
vision, figure study, travel
photography, portraiture,
and Mexican culture and
heritage with well-known
instructors Jay Maisel,
Nevada Wier, Keith Carter,
Mona Kuhn and many others.
San Miguel is one of Mexico’s
most charming colonial
towns, with narrow, serpentine,
cobblestone streets that
wind through sixteenth-
and seventeenth-century
stone buildings. Rich in
culture, heritage, holidays
and fiestas, San Miguel
has long been a center
for the arts and home to
an international community
of artists, writers and
sculptors. Hotel Posada
de La Aldea will serve
as the workshops’ campus.
Extensive grounds with
beautiful gardens, a swimming
pool, fountains and private
courtyards provide a serene
backdrop for the creative
workshop process.

Mexico Workshops
Sept. 1-10, Oct. 27-Nov.
4, 2006
Mundo Viejo is conducting
two workshops this fall.
In September, the workshop
in Tepoztlán, Morelos,
offers the opportunity
to photograph life in a
Mexican village during
two unique back-to-back
festivals. Reto del Tepozteco,
held primarily at the pyramid
above the village, is followed
by El Fiesta del Templo,
held in the village’s
sixteenth-century cathedral.
Day trips to Xochicalco,
Las Estacas and Cuernavaca
will offer even more photographic
opportunities. From Oct.
27 to Nov. 4, Les Warren
will lead a workshop in
Oaxaca during the Day of
the Dead festivities. The
workshop includes trips
to nearby villages as well
as to the ruins at Monte
Albán, Mitla and
Yagul. These workshops,
available to photographers
of all skill levels, are
kept small so that each
participant gets personalized
help capturing great images
and growing as a photographer.
