Fall In The
Eastern Sierra Nevada
October 12-15, 2006
The Eastern Sierra Nevada
Mountains have some of
the most photogenic areas
on earth. The long morning
light traveling over the
western desert warms the
granite peaks, supplying
endless opportunities for
great image making. Scenic
Light Photography, with
professional photographer
Bob Evans, is conducting
an intensive workshop for
the film and digital SLR
user. Based in Bishop,
Calif., each morning begins
with a dawn shoot at locations
such as the Buttermilk
Rocks, Mono Lake, the Ancient
Bristlecone Pine Forest,
or the many canyons bathed
in aspen color. The highlight
of one shoot will be a
trip to the White Mountains
to photograph the ancient
bristlecone pine. Lectures
include the use of the
color Zone System, digital
fine-art printing and making
the most of the golden
hours of light.

Master Photography
Weekend
Oct. 28-29, Nov. 4-5,
2006
John Shaw is one of
the most renowned and
respected
nature photographers
and educators around
today.
Now you can learn directly
from him at one of
the 2006 Master Photographers
Weekend Seminars in
Chicago
(Oct. 28-29) and Minneapolis/St.
Paul (Nov. 4-5). While
many professional photographers
possess great skill
behind the lens or
in the digital
darkroom, few share
Shaw’s
unique ability to teach
these skills to others.
His teaching style is
clear, concise and highly
informative.
When the weekend is over,
attendees will have a
solid understanding of
many basic
and advanced principles
related to nature photography
and the digital darkroom.
Each two-part seminar
will take place over
a weekend,
with one full day devoted
to nature photography
and the second day covering
the digital darkroom.

Flowers In The Desert
March through May 2006
From the towering saguaros
to the tiniest “belly
flowers” (blossoms
so small you have to get
down on your belly to see
them), the Arizona deserts
provide a wealth of opportunities
for photographers. Poppies,
owl clover, brittlebush
and golden gilia are only
a few of the blossoms that
may greet you. Each March
through May, during the
height of the wildflower
season, Fradenburgh Photoscenics
offers Wildflower Close-up
Photo Workshops. Based
from Wickenburg, Ariz.,
the workshops consist of
field trips alternating
with critique sessions.
Get the most out of your
camera, whether it’s
film or digital. If you
want to try something new,
you may borrow various
close-up attachments and
experiment. Come enjoy
a fascinating journey through
the desert in bloom.
