Speed and control upgrades are just two reasons to step up to the “sweet-spot” models

Pentax K20D
Weather-resistant and dustproof (we put it to the test), the K20D (along with the Samsung GX-20) features resolution among the highest available in an APS-C-sensor D-SLR. The 14.6-megapixel CMOS unit, a product of the Samsung/Pentax partnership, provides images with great detail, while sensor-shift Shake Reduction works with all lenses. Other cool features include a sensor-dust remover, Live-View capability and a choice of two RAW formats: Pentax's own PEF or Adobe's "universal" DNG. A convenient button lets you switch between JPEG and RAW at a touch.
