Using a Tele Converter

    Has anyone used a Tameron 2 X teleconverter with a Nikon Lens? I have one I use with the 70-300 MM Nikon and know it can't auto focus. I have problems with a proper focus at the far end of the range. Any help or techniques used would be appreciated
