Sigma debuts its new SD14 digital SLR camera, which uses a unique
Foveon sensor with 14-megapixel color photosites. The Foveon X3
direct-image sensor reproduces high-definition images with rich color
gradation and sharper resolution. The feature-packed camera includes
four JPEG recording modes in addition to RAW capture, a bright
pentaprism viewfinder with 98-percent coverage, built-in flash, a
2.5-inch LCD and a dust protector located away from the image sensor to
keep dust from entering and sticking to the sensor. The durable shutter
mechanism has been rated for a life cycle of more than 100,000
