There’s no such thing as a free lunch, or so they say. But apparently,
there’s a world of free photo software online, and you might be
surprised how useful it can be. I recently downloaded KStudio’s Resize!
freeware when I had to process more than one thousand two hundred JPEG files to ready them
for online browsing. The software allowed me to enter a maximum pixel
dimension, and choose options like proportional resizing, JPEG quality,
cropping and more. It even creates a new folder for the processed
files, leaving the originals untouched. Best of all, it handled all
1200 of those files in about 10 minutes, all the while running in the
background as I took care of other more pressing issues… like finding
