Nikon D700
Nikons second FX-format (full-frame) D-SLR, the D700 offers many of the flagship D3s advantages in a much lighter, more compact package, for just 60% of the D3s price. Among those features: the same 12.1-megapixel FX CMOS sensor; automatic switching to DX-format mode when a DX Nikkor lens is attached (at 5.1 megapixels); the same excellent AF and metering systems; ISOs to 25,600 with excellent image quality at 6400; Handheld and Tripod Live-View modes; and more. The D700 even adds a built-in flash and a sensor-dust remover absent from the D3.
